BACKGROUND

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a phytocannabinoid derived from the cannabis plant and has shown potential therapeutic properties in preclinical animal studies. Despite limited evidence from randomized clinical trials, CBD is frequently used for self-medication in conditions such as stress, sleep disorders, pain, depression, and anxiety. This study examines the sociodemographic characteristics, motives for use, and consumption patterns of CBD users in Germany.
